Doi Phu Nang National Park Adventures

Doi Phu Nang National Park is located in Phayao Province in northern Thailand, covering a mountainous region dominated by forested ridges and deep valleys. The park sits at an elevation reaching approximately 1,328 meters (4,357 feet) at its highest point, creating a cool climate compared to the surrounding lowlands. The area is characterized by mixed evergreen and deciduous forests, with an abundance of rhododendrons, orchids, and several rare plant species. It serves as an important habitat for wildlife such as barking deer, wild boar, various bird species including hornbills and gibbons, and sometimes elusive mammals like the Asiatic black bear.

Historically, Doi Phu Nang was declared a national park in 1999 to protect its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes. Visitors are drawn to the park's dense forests and multiple waterfalls including the impressive Na Sang Waterfall and Huai Kaneng Waterfall. The park offers several hiking trails that traverse the forest to viewpoints overlooking valleys filled with mist, perfect for bird watchers and nature photographers.
